What I do...

Womit ich mich nun schon seit Tagen beschäftige, nur um eine Präsentation am Montag zu halten... war interessant, aber jetzt reichts, muss ja schließlich noch koreanisch Vokabeln lernen und Hausaufgaben machen... Ich hab wirklich keine Lust mehr, das zieht sich wie alter Kaugummi, aber ich hab wohl keine andere Wahl :-(

What I've been doing for a couple of days now, only to have a presentation this monday... it was interesting, but now it's been more than enough, I have some korean voc's to learn and homework to do. I really don't feel like doing this anymore, but I guess I have to finish it :-(

Das habe ich ja offensichtlich nicht selbst gezeichnet, und es ist auch ein bisschen zu klein um es wirklich zu lesen. Wen es interessiert, der Link führ zum Bild in groß. Dreaming of Designs

Actually I was researching on a good design for my presentation on mondy, when I started researching on typography (and totally fell in love w/ it) which lead me to computer based designs and art... nice little story, and thats how I spend about 5 hours of my day... (not good for my presentation, but good for my soul)

3. I wish I had a drawing tablet and a good program to play around (good thing I don't, because this would be the end of my career as real estate engineer). 
4. I wish I had friends who are interested in those kind of things as well. 
5. I hate that AutoCAD tells me stuff like "your graphics card is to old for our program", how can I be out-dated after 3 years already? 
6. Vektorworks2012 is downloading way to slow, 3hours47minutes.
7. I need a mouse for my UrbanDesign3 Class (hate unnecessary investments, have more than enough electronic scrab at home and daddy says we don't have money for cheap crab, so make an investment and buy a good mouse now?!?).
8. I need a BIG screen, as soon as I am home. 
9. I need to marry an extremely rich guy, tomorrow! There are way to many "I need"s on my "research result" list.

BTW: It's not my fault this world is just way to amazing and beautiful to concentrate on LEED's.

Diese beiden Bilder hab ich von der Dragen Hill Spa Homepage. Ungefähr so sieht es dort aus, es ist riesig. Und die lustigen Kopftuchtechniken sind durchaus üblich :)

I got those two pictures from the dragon hill homepage. This is how it looks from the inside, it's huge though. And the funny towel-on-head technik is a common thing to do there :D

Dear Neighbours

Was ist denn da bitte los?! 
Und warum ist da einer so fett und der Rest der Bevölkerung hat nichts zu essen?

Und was genau lässt ihn in dem Glauben, Seoul innerhalb von 4 Minuten in Schutt und Asche legen zu können? Er hats ja nicht mal geschafft den Sateliten weiter als direkt ins Meer zu katapultieren. Jemand sollte ihm ein bisschen Realitätsnähe vermitteln. Aber wahrscheinlich traut sich keiner.

Die Südkoreaner sind auf jeden Fall sehr unbeeindruckt von den Einschüchterungsversuchen.

Update: Hab heute mal meine Leute aus dem Urban Design Kurs gefragt, was die davon halten. Sie waren eher unbeeindruckt, bzw. desinteressiert, was natürlich eigenartig ist, da man ja direkt betroffen wäre. Aber sie haben gemeint, es interessiert sie wenig was der eine Hampelmann da veranstaltet, sie sind nur an der Vereinigung der beiden Länder interessiert, an sonst nichts.

The Crew

Nachdem ich ja jeden Tag 4 Stunden mit meiner lieben Klasse verbringe, stelle ich sie mal kurz vor.

Since I spend every day 4 hours with my lovely classmates I guess it is time to introduce them.

Der Typ neben mir ist aus Bangladesch und hat mit dem Kurs aufgehört, die Lehrerin sagt immer was von Problemen wegen illegaler Immigration. Man muss den Kurs machen um Einwandern zu dürfen... Die ältere Frau in der Mitte in der braunen Jacke hat auch aufgehört. Ich weiß gar nicht genau was sie hier macht, ihren Doktor vielleicht. Der Mann neben ihr ist wirklich Arzt und sagt dann immer so Sachen wie: "ne zum Culture Class kann er nicht kommen, er hat nachmittags ne OP." So ist das eben wenn man Chirurg ist. 
Schwarz-weiß gestreift in der Mitte ist Tomomi aus Japan. Der Rest ist aus China, 19 und macht jetzt 6 Semester Koreanischkurs um anschließend hier studieren zu können.
The guy next to me is from Bangladesh and already quit the course, the teacher always talks about illegal immigration problems. The older woman in the middel, with the brown jacket, quit the course as well, but I think she's doing a PhD program. The guy next to her is a doctor, so every once in a while he will say things like "oh no, I can't join for cultural class I have a surgery." 
The girl in the middle is Tomomi from Japan, the rest of the crew is from China, about 19 years old and dies 6 semesters of Korean intensive course to be allowed to study here in Korea.

Beautiful Days

Die Einrichtung ist wirklich toll. So viel Liebe zum Detail könnte/sollte es öfter geben.

Next Stop: Makkolli Restaurant.

Das absolut beste Makkolli das ich bis jetzt getrunken hab. Mit Citrusgeschmack, super erfrischend, fast besser als Weinschorle. 

The best Makkolli I had so far. It's with some kind of citrus/lemon flavor and so, so refreshing, almost better than wine+sparkling water (spritzer?!).

The Reason. Part I

The Reason why Korea is Amazing

"Schatz, welche Farbe muss ich tanken: rot, gelb oder blau?"

Stellt sich nur die Frage: wo wird das ganze Benzin gelagert? Wird es dann so ewig weit hoch gepumpt? Wenn ich noch einmal eine Tankstelle sehen sollte (das war bis jetzt die einzige), dann werde ich mal genauer hinsehen.

"Honey, which color do I chose to refuel the car?" Only one question comes to my mind: Where do they store all the gas? In Germany it's underground, but here the gas pump is hanging from the ceiling.

Was ist das?! Sind die Bäume krank und haben eine Infusion gelegt bekommen?! Oder ist das nur die neueste Technik um Harz aus dem Baum zu kriegen? Und was macht man mit dem Harz? Fragen, nichts als Fragen!

What is this?! Did the tree get sick and they had to put him on medicine?! Or is it maybe because they try to get the resin out of the tree and that's the new way to do it? Koreans are so smart. What do you do with this resin? So many questions, no answers...

In meinem Urban Design Raum am Tag der Präsentation. Aber es schläft sich wohl auch ganz gut mit dem Kopf auf dem Tisch/Rucksack. 

In the Urban Design Studio Room the day of the presentation. But they say it's also very comfy to sleep on the desk/backpack. 

Lebensmittel mit der Schere schneiden. Gemüse, Fleisch, alles! Mitten beim Essen! Ok, es gibt keine Messer sondern nur Löffel und Stäbchen, vielleicht ist das eine gute Ausrede. Und wenn man sich erstmal von dem ae(s)sthetik-schock erholt hat, dann findet man das geschnibbel am Tisch überaus praktisch. So geht es mir zumindest.

Cutting Food with scissors. THIS would never happen in Germany. They cut everything, veggies, meat, just everything. It's ok because they only have spoons and chopsticks to eat the food, so I guess that's a good excuse. And after I recovered from my little esthetics-shock I actually figured it is quite convenient to have some scissors at hand at the table.

This is why Korea is amazing.

Korean Extreme Hiking for Beginners

Mountain Map

On the way to the mountain: lunch snacks, lots of beer, water, hiking equipment.

Crowded mountain road. Koreans love hiking so on the weekends lots of ppl take a ride to a close mountain to enjoy nature. Nice hobby :)

Jessi got a hankerchief which is very important hiking equipment. You can buy them everywhere on the mountain.

We had to pull ourselves to the top by using those ropes. My arms were so sore the next day :(

"Backpack Mountain"

 On the top of the mountain: everybody was having lunch. People were selling ice cream, kimbab, beer, water and other good stuff :D Korea is such a consume-country.

We picked a great spot for lunch.

I could not take a picture of the highest point because everybody was taking pictures in front of it. No way of having the top for myself.

This place looks really great. I wonder if it would be a good place for a temple stay :)

Waiting at the metro to go home. 5 hours of hiking was more than enough for the first time.
